He has been published in several journals and magazines for his commentary on governance, performance management, and business models with a customer focus. He lectures at the MBA-Level at the Schulich School of Business on Strategy, Restructuring and Turnaround Management. He maintains his Professional Engineering license in Ontario.

Hector began his career in the family broadcasting business in Thunder Bay, where he got an early broad exposure to the local business environment. Hector has been a sales manager, a general manager, a salesperson, entrepreneur and coach. Hector has over a decade of experience in preparing marketing plans and more than six years of management consulting, evenly divided between Canada and the United States.
